We are very excited that you are interested in auditioning for us. Below is a FAQ to answer a few questions you may have before auditions. For additional information about auditions, email our president, Elly Easter, at , or our music director, Zach Baugher, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
1.WHEN AND WHERE ?
We hold auditions at the beginning of the school year during the first week of the fall semester and sometimes in the spring semester. Be on the lookout for us at the Activities Fair to grab a flyer and ask us questions! The flyer will have information with dates about auditions and where they will be held.
2. HOW DO I SIGN UP?
We will have a sign up sheet at the Activities Fair where you can sign up for a time block. You can also email our president to arrange a time block or stop by anytime during auditions. You may also sign up to audition by signing up on a sheet we'll post outside our Lawn Room door.
3. DO I NEED SINGING EXPERIENCE?
You definitely do not! Our members' experience ranges from vocal training to only singing in the shower or car. Some of the V's have learned to beatbox, arrange music, or sing for the first time as a group with us. Also, don't think that you need to be an expert on rock music to audition. We just hope you love singing as much as we do!
4. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE ?
To prepare for auditions, we recommend a verse and a chorus of a song and will accept any genre except classical, Broadway, or show tunes. We also test range. Be comfortable and have fun! We have all been there. We are excited about your audition! If you need song suggestions, visit our "Set List" tab or our member bios.
5. WHAT HAPPENS AFTER AUDITIONS?
Callbacks will be posted outside the Lawn door of the room you auditioned in the morning after all auditions have finished. Your callbacks will be the same weekend!
For callbacks, we are looking for a verse and a chorus of a rock song. Be prepared to sing with the group! You will receive more details from us on what to expect for callbacks, but again, be comfortable, come with your best performing attitude, and have fun!
