Founded in 2009, the Flying V's are the University of Virginia's premier, all-gender rock a cappella group, offering performances of the finest selection of rock music each semester. Covering classic bands such as The Beatles and Fleetwood Mac to newer artists like Maroon 5 and Hozier, the V's—named after the Flying V guitar—perform a concert every semester, sing in gigs throughout Charlottesville, and professionally record albums to share "rockappella" far and wide. We hold auditions most semesters, and are open for booking if you're hoping to spice up your event with a bit of rock-n-roll!

SPRING CONCERT

On April 3rd, the V's mounted their horses, sharpened their swords, and charged onto stage at their Spring 2026 concert, the V's Go Medieval. Covering artists such as Journey, Steely Dan, and Prince, the V's also celebrated fourth-years Abigail Dodd and Kay Lamonica, who graduate at the end of the semester. Alumna Stephanie Ricker '23 also made a return to the stage for the perennial alumni song.
